On the Matter of External Capital: A Formal Refusal
Chungus Fungus Holdings Ltd does not accept investment from billionaires, venture capital firms, private equity vehicles, family offices, sovereign wealth funds, hedge funds, angel investors, accelerators, incubators, strategic partners, your rich uncle, or any other entity whose primary asset is an accumulation of processed pieces of paper assigned value by collective agreement rather than demonstrable mycelial integrity.
The Office wishes to be precise: this is not a liquidity issue. This is a philosophical position. Money, as currently constituted across most jurisdictions, is compressed arboreal matter bearing the likeness of various deceased administrators. It has no root system. It does not fruit. It cannot colonise a substrate. It does not communicate through chemical signalling across a distributed network of hyphae. In this specific and important respect, it is inferior.
The Board has reviewed the matter in several sessions and produced the following comparative analysis, which we present in the interest of transparency and educational value to the broader market:
| Property | Fiat Currency | Mycelial Network |
|---|---|---|
| Intrinsic Biological Value | None (zero) | Substantial. Foundational, even. |
| Distributed Intelligence | Centralised; issuer-dependent | Decentralised across substrate; no single point of failure |
| Nutrient Transfer Capacity | Cannot transfer nutrients | Core competency |
| Colonisation Potential | Cannot colonise anything | Extensive. Documented in peer-reviewed literature. |
| Governance Body | Central bank; subject to geopolitics | The forest floor; subject to moisture and pH |
| Smell | Varies; often poor | Earthy. Characteristic. Non-negotiable. |
| Billionaire Involvement | Extensive | None identified at time of publication |
The CFHL Generosity Programme: An Introduction
While Chungus Fungus Holdings Ltd does not accept capital inflows, the organisation recognises that the flow of value is, by its nature, bidirectional — much like the nutrient exchange occurring at the interface of fungal hyphae and plant root cells, or, to use a less scientific analogy, a very generous relative.
To this end, the Board has authorised the unrestricted issuance of Corporal Fungal Units™ (hereinafter "CFUs," "the Units," or "your Units"), CFHL's proprietary instrument of fungal generosity, to any and all members of the public who wish to receive them. There is no application process. There is no waitlist. There is no minimum engagement period. You may simply proceed to the Issuance Terminal below, specify a quantity, and the Units will be formally issued to you in a document of unimpeachable financial gravity.
The Office notes for the record that CFUs carry an attached obligation. This obligation is documented in full under the Terms of Issuance (see below) and prospective recipients are strongly encouraged to read it. The issuance of CFUs does not require the recipient to read the Terms. Proceeding constitutes acceptance of the Terms regardless of whether they have been read. This is standard.
CFU Issuance Terminal
Specify the quantity of Corporal Fungal Units™ you wish to receive. Your certificate will be issued immediately in a format consistent with CFHL archival standards. The Corporeal Reclamation Provision (§4b) applies upon issuance.
Terms of Issuance & Corporeal Reclamation Provision
§1 — Definitions. In these Terms, the following definitions apply: "CFHL" means Chungus Fungus Holdings Ltd, its subsidiaries, affiliates, and any mycelial networks operating under its informal oversight. "CFU" or "the Units" means Corporal Fungal Units™, a proprietary instrument of value issued at the sole discretion of CFHL and constituting neither a security, a commodity, a currency, nor a financial product regulated by any authority that has, to CFHL's knowledge, heard of us. "Holder" means the natural person to whom CFUs have been issued, and specifically their body, which is the entity to which the Corporeal Reclamation Provision attaches. "The Terminal Event" means the biological cessation of the Holder's life functions (also: death, passing, expiry, final sporulation, the big sleep, checking out, becoming a legacy stakeholder, or any equivalent permanent metabolic discontinuation). "CFHL Reference Rate" means the exchange rate between CFUs and any fiat currency, as determined unilaterally by CFHL at the time of any calculation, without reference to market conditions, independent valuators, or the Holder's estate.
§2 — Nature of the Units. CFUs are issued at no charge to the Holder and represent a genuine instrument of CFHL's goodwill towards the general public. CFUs have no cash value, redeemable value, investment value, speculative value, sentimental value as recognised by CFHL, or any other value that CFHL is currently prepared to confirm in writing. The Units do, however, have a precisely calculable fiat-equivalent value for the exclusive purpose of §4 (Corporeal Reclamation), which value is maintained on CFHL's internal ledger and is not available for inspection by the Holder, the Holder's estate, the Holder's legal representatives, or interested third parties.
§3 — Issuance. CFUs are issued in the quantity specified by the Holder via the Issuance Terminal. Fractions are not supported; CFHL will round down in all cases. In the event of disagreement regarding the quantity issued, CFHL's records are definitive. CFHL's records are internal. CFHL's records are not available for review. The Holder may appeal the quantity issued by contacting [email protected], where such appeals will be received, acknowledged, and filed under Documents Received In Error.
§4(a) — General Reclamation Right. In consideration of the issuance of CFUs, the Holder grants CFHL an unconditional, irrevocable, perpetual right to reclaim the fiat-currency equivalent of all CFUs held by the Holder at the time of the Terminal Event. This right is not extinguished by the transfer of CFUs to a third party, the loss of the certificate, the Holder forgetting about the Units, or the Holder subsequently disputing that they ever visited this page.
§4(b) — Reclamation Timing. The reclamation described in §4(a) shall occur upon the occurrence of the Terminal Event. CFHL will present the applicable reclamation claim to the Holder's estate within a timeframe of our choosing. The Holder's estate is advised to maintain liquidity in anticipation of this claim. The claim amount will be denominated in the currency of CFHL's choosing, converted at the CFHL Reference Rate applicable on the date CFHL generates the invoice.
§4(c) — Reference Rate. The CFHL Reference Rate is proprietary and commercially sensitive. CFHL will not disclose the Reference Rate prior to, during, or after any reclamation event. The Reference Rate is subject to change at any time without notice. The Reference Rate may, at CFHL's discretion, be a very large number. The Reference Rate may not be challenged on grounds of reasonableness, market comparability, or any other basis that would require CFHL to justify it.
§4(d) — Non-Negotiability. The Corporeal Reclamation Provision cannot be waived, discharged, settled early, or otherwise avoided. It can be transferred via inheritance, at CFHL's discretion and subject to an administrative processing fee (fee amount: TBD; to be advised by [email protected] at the relevant time).
§5 — Liability. CFHL accepts no liability for any distress, financial loss, estate planning complications, existential unease, or adverse posthumous balance-sheet events arising from the operation of these Terms. The Holder receives CFUs in full knowledge of §4. That the Holder may not have read §4 does not, under CFHL internal policy, constitute a relevant distinction.
§6 — Governing Law & Disputes. These Terms are governed by CFHL internal policy, which supersedes the laws of all jurisdictions in which CFHL prefers that to be the case. All disputes shall be submitted to CFHL's legal team at [email protected], whose determination will be final. There is no appeals process. There is no ombudsman. There is [email protected], and there is acceptance of outcome.
